Monday Update
/Lately I've been working on getting my house organized. It really is hard to keep things orderly when bargain-hunting is the hobby in the household! I've been working a lot in the basement, that's where I keep our stockpile stuff, along with bargain finds. When our basement flooded last month, a lot of stuff was ruined (like cardboard boxes, papers, several rugs, linens, etc.), but luckily my stockpile stuff was on shelves. Cleaning all that up took at least a month, but the good thing that came out of it was my basement is a lot more organized now, a lot cleaner and a lot less cluttered. We had tons of stuff on the curb every week for garbage pickup. One day we had so much, they kept driving and picked up everyone else's stuff on our street! I had to call the city to get them to come back!
The lesson I learned from the basement flooding was to invest in plastic bins and store everything in those. Plastic bins are expensive, but luckily I've found some on clearance lately. Here's a good article on organizing from Woman's Day magazine.
The Monopoly game is coming back to McDonald's on Oct.2, 2007. But this year they aren't offering Best Buy bucks!! That was one of the best parts of the promotion during the past few years. Instead, they are offering Toys R Us Bucks. Here's all the details.
