Cake Boss Conundrum

Walt's birthday is coming up on March 3rd and guess what? Cam wants to make a Cake Boss cake! Here is how close to Cake Boss I get!

• I like baking but my skills involve Duncan Hines cake mix and a tub of frosting.
• If I want to get really fancy, I buy those candy letters you stick on to say "Happy Birthday".
• One year, I attempted to make a merry-go-round cake I found in Parents magazine for my son's 3rd birthday, it did not turn out so well!
• Me + piping gel= a mess

Now, I will admit, I do rock Easter cakes. I've been making the Easter bunny cake since I was 13, as pictured below. And the lamb one I made one year, came out well, though it was hard to make-

But since it's not Easter yet and my husband hates coconut, I have to come up with another idea!

Cam suggested we make a Cedar Point cake, complete with rollercoasters, rides and more. I was like "Uhhh...not going to happen?"

So, I'm now considering buying some fondant at the craft store and attempting to use it. I'm also going to see what other cake supplies they sell...
