COMMENTARY: Extreme Couponing Show is Finally Over

Did anyone else watch the season finale of "Extreme Couponing All Stars"? And did anyone else notice something odd?

Where in the world did the contestants get stacks and stacks of free coupons? The average shopper could never obtain that many free coupons. It's almost like they are photocopying coupons in their house!

They must be buying coupons off the Internet, off ebay or have a deal with a newspaper supplier. Whatever their source, the average person trying to save money on their grocery bill, would never have access to those kind of savings.

And I don't care that they are donating all of their groceries. I think they have ruined couponing for a lot of us. I know that when I go into the store now, cashiers seem to question the coupons more.

I wish they would do a show with people who didn't cheat with coupons and didn't have "coupon suppliers", like the guy contestant on the series finale who had to call someone for more coupons. What was that about? When I want more coupons, I have to get in my car and drive up to Giant Eagle and buy a Sunday paper, like every other normal person. I don't have some secret source who will ship me coupons, I'm sure, for a huge price.

So even though the show has tried to redeem itself by donating items, it doesn't change the fact that couponing has been ruined for the rest of the country. Thanks Extreme Couponing.
