Make Blood Donation a Priority This Summer #DonateBlood #MissingType

Accidents, falls and more. During the busy summer months, with all kinds of outdoor activities going on, ER trips go up.

When I was a kid my friend Kelly had a bad accident and had to be rushed to the ER. She needed a blood transfusion and it saved her life! I always remember that, as showing me as a 10 year old, how important blood donation is.

Did you know that during the summer, blood donation drops about 20%? It is more crucial this time of year to donate blood. The scary thing is one in 7 people entering the hospital needs a blood transfusion. This equals every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs a transfusion of donated blood.

With your help, one blood donation can help up to 3 patients! Isn't that amazing? And you can help more than once a year. Blood can be donated every 56 days, up to 6x a year.
