Lucky New Yorkers- AOL settlement

One of the most exciting things I read today was about the AOL law suit. According to the article "AOL is also required to provide fee refunds for up to four months of service to all New York consumers who claim harm based on improper cancellation requests and pay New York state $1.25 million in penalties and costs." New Yorkers, you are in luck! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this applies to AOL customers in other states. Get your claim form here.

I signed up for AOL last winter and it took a good 6 months to get it cancelled. Meanwhile, they kept trying to charge my checking account, until I closed the account and cut them off at the source! I can't stand AOL, they have burned so many people.

Top 10 Reasons I Love Being a Bargain Hunter

  1. Seeing the look on people's faces in the check-out line when I whip out a stack of coupons.
  2. Saving money gives me such a high!
  3. Impressing my husband with my bargains.
  4. Having a stockpile of food and household stuff and having extra to share with family and friends.
  5. I love freebies! Some of the freebies I've gotten recently include a Redbook subscription, Itunes, gasoline, movie rentals and more.
  6. Finding that perfect online deal at Amazon, especially with starting Christmas shopping.
  7. I love going to the mailbox to see what freebie or rebate has arrived.
  8. Going on shopping trips with gc's and coupons and getting stuff for next to nothing. For example, I got a bookcase and lamp at Bed Bath & Beyond for $5, after gc and coupon.
  9. My budget is in better shape because of my deal hunting.
  10. It's the best hobby in the world!

High Gas Prices= Less Bargain Shopping?

I was debating this today. Is it worth it to drive around for the latest deals, if the high gas prices negate the savings? I wanted to visit a few different stores today, but they were in different towns and I figured, it's not worth the gas to be driving around so much. So, I went to Kohl's and Costco and that's it. There are many theories why gas prices keep climbing, I wish I knew which one was the truth! To check gas prices in your area, go to GasBuddy.com . Also, if you are a Giant Eagle shopper, be sure to look into the Fuel Perks program. We saved over $13 this past weekend on gas, paying $1.70 a gallon!

Meijer also has a new offer. Spend $50+ on select products and receive a $5 coupon for free gasoline fill-up! Plus earn Fuel Rewards when you buy products, they'll be marked with the Fuel Rewards logo.

Another way to get around the high gas prices, but still find good deals is online! Be sure to come back here everyday for the latest!

Here's the updates for today:

Meijer deal: This week Pepsi products are 4/$10.00 and receive the 5th 12 pack free at the register. This is a good way to score free jeans and Pepsi!
