Instant Pot Recall

The oval model of the Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker has been alleged to overheat, melting the bottom of the appliance.

INSTANT POT IS CAUTIONING USERS OF ITS GEM 65 8-IN-1 MULTICOOKER OVAL MODEL TO STOP USING AFFECTED MODELS WITH THE FOLLOWING BATCH CODES: 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734, AND 1746. CUSTOMERS HAVE REPORTED THE UNDERSIDE OF THE INSTANT POT GETTING WAY TOO HOT AND MELTING. YIKES!
HAVE ONE OF THESE AFFECTED INSTANT POTS? HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO…
  • Look for 4-digit batch code on the silver label on the bottom of the pot.
  • If you own one of the affected batch codes, stop using it immediatly.
  • Contact Instant Pot’s customer service department by emailing support@instantpot.com or by calling 1-800-828-7280. (According to Consumer Reports, callers may receive a faster response than those emailing.)
  • At this time affected customers are being offered a replacement Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker.
