Deals=Clutter?

One of my favorite new books is It's All Too Much by Peter Walsh.I've found with the deal hunting, I've accumulated a lot of stockpile stuff. Here is some of what I have downstairs right now:

  • Ragu pasta sauce
  • Lucky Charms cereal
  • Pasta Roni
  • Skippy peanut butter
  • boxes of Jello
  • pasta
  • cake mixes
  • Valentine's candy
  • toothpaste
  • body wash
  • deodorant
  • assorted beauty supplies
  • picture frames
  • photo albums
  • stationary paper
  • school supplies
  • plastic cups, bowls
  • party supplies
  • baby wipes
  • diaper samples
  • holiday decorations (Christmas, Valentine's, Easter, Halloween)
  • and on and on
Luckily it's fairly organized on shelves and bins, so I know where everything is, but after reading that book, I've come to realize it really is too much! I give away a lot to family and charity, but as everyone with the deal-hunting habit knows, a lot comes in the house, but doesn't always leave the house.

I've cut back on grocery shopping and stock up, so that's been helping. But the Target clearance is still a temptation!

So my question is, how do you know when stocking up on deals has gotten excessive?
