My Top 10 Organizing Tips

Summertime is a busy, fun-filled time. But with all the summer-time fun, it can also turn into chaos! Here is how I stay organized on the go:

1.       I love to sleep in, but sometimes getting up a little earlier is a great way to start off my day, not so stressed out. Especially when school gets back in session!

2.       Keep a calendar on my phone and online. I have a calendar on my smart phone, that is synched up to Google calendar online. This way, I don’t forget about appointments or important errands

3.       In the car, I keep a to-go bag, filled with snacks, wipes, spare change and projects for my son. This helps to keep him entertained on errand-running days!

4.       Stocking up is one way I keep from having to run out to the store for one more thing. Costco helps with this but also Target sells bulk food and household items, a few times a year.

5.       Fix and freeze extra meals. Especially in the summer, with hectic schedules, take a break from the kitchen and rely on food you’ve already prepared over the weekend. I like to make extra hamburger, that I throw into a big bowl of pasta.

6.       I like to organize my stuff with containers. I especially like the selection at Target- colorful, fun and useful!

7.       Make use of features on washing machines and dishwashers- and program them ahead of time! And don’t forget the coffee pot!

8.       Shop online. Amazon has become one of my favorite web sites for getting everything from books to groceries and more. And their prices are comparable, or better than retail stores. And you can’t beat free shipping!

9.       I love Ziplocs! Whether they are for containing wet towels from the beach, small toys or left-over snacks, I always try and have Ziplocs on hand (and in the car)

10.   After all the running around is done, be sure to sit down and relax with an icy cold Seattle's Best Iced Latte- perfect to cool-off on a hot summer day!
