Keeping Mom and Dad Safe #VTechCareLine

30+ years ago, this photo was taken of Dad and me. It is one of my favorite photos.

This year, I want to give the gift of peace and security to my parents. My dad is 70 years old and has Alzheimer's. Mom is going to be 70 in a few years. Mom takes care of Dad at home, which has it's challenges. I worry about them all the time!
So when I learned about this new VTech phone, I knew I had to send it to them. They live 10 hours away, making it even more challenging.
The VTech is awesome because it includes emergency calling, no monthly subscription fee, portable pendent for easy calling no matter where you are. This is a really big help when it comes to worrying about them going outside and needing help.
It also includes:
  • ·       Complete System: The CareLine™ Corded/Cordless Answering System with Pendant

  • ·       Portable Safety Pendant:

  • ·       Voice Amplification:

There are no monthly monitoring fees (good for the budget friendly like my parents!), photo speed dial is a really handy feature and voice announce caller id is something my mom really likes. She can be busy in the kitchen and hear who is calling, without having to run to catch the phone.

There are so many lessons my parents have taught me and continue to teach me!

When I was a kid, my Dad was very frugal and we didn't have a VCR, video games, or a computer! He was old-fashioned and cared more about saving money and making sure his family had a secure future. I remember instead of buying a new car, he would fix up the car we had. He was a great mechanic and kept the cars running for a long time.

My mom was frugal too but she couldn't resist a good sale, (just like me!). She taught me how to find good deals, clip coupons, etc. She is also an amazing gardener and would grow all kinds of vegetables, like corn, zucchinni, tomatoes and more. I feel these different ways of saving money inspired me to do what I do today- run Savingsmania.com!
