Toy Clearance @ Target

/

This year the markdown could take place on Thursday, January 14th or Thursday January 22nd 2016,

Here are some things you can do BEFORE the big sale happens to make sure you are ready for the big day!

Make your list and set your budget:
It's easy to go crazy buying toys during the clearance sale.

Check reviews before you buy:
Amazon is a great resource to make sure the toys are rated highly and well made.

Check for coupons or rebates:

Check to see if there are any coupons or rebates.  Make sure you check Target.com for Target printable toy coupons too and Cartwheel.

Visit all your local Targets:

This is a little time-consuming but worth it for a better selection of toys.

50% off- worth it?
If I see something that is a very popular toy (like LEGO's) and know it will disappear fast at 70% off, I will buy it at 50% off. 50% off LEGOs are worth it to me, as they are so expensive!

Target does not do price adjustments on clearance items.   You can buy the item at 70% off and then return the original item with your 50% off receipt.

January Target Mark-Downs

/

I am hoping the Christmas clearance items  will 70% off January 1st.   Last year the markdown to 90% off happened on January 4th.

Toys – January is a big month for toy clearance, because they are clearing out all of the extra toys they brought in for Christmas, so they can make way for the new spring and summer toys.

Last year, the markdown happened on Thursday, January 15th.  If I had to take a guess when it will happen this year I am thinking the toys will be marked down on either Thursday, January 14th or Thursday, January 22nd. Sporting Goods – The sporting good department usually has a nice clearance selection.   I find that they usually get marked down to 70% off a week or two after the toys do.   The markdown day for the sporting good department is Thursdays.

Shoes – January is a great month for buying shoes and boots!  Usually a huge selection of shoes will go 70% off due to the fact they need to bring in the new spring styles.   Last year the markdown day varied at each store, but keep in mind that the markdown day for the shoe department is usually Thursday.

Baby – There is a TON of clearance in the baby department.   You will find all things baby being cleared out to bring in the new.    Clothing, bedding, furniture, car seats, strollers, diaper bags and so much more.    It is possible to find baby gear at 70% off.  Monday is the markdown day for the baby section.

Home – Lots of curtains, bedding and bath items go on clearance to make way for the pretty spring colors coming in.

Clothing – We should see lots of clearance in the clothing department to make way for the new spring clothes.   This is every department, men, women, kids, infants, etc.    There is also a nice selection of women’s clearance accessories too.
