Now, some commentary!

I went to Old Navy this past week to make a return. I saw that they were having a sale on kid's clothes, 25% off. While they were ringing up my returns, I asked if they have a price adjustment policy. I was told 14 days after purchase! I got back $16! It was awesome! And then my son and I went to McDonald's and got lunch and got him a free happy meal with the coupons that were recently in the Sunday paper.

The bargains cheered me up. I've been bummed because Giant Eagle stopped doubling coupons in Cleveland stores. My husband didn't get why I was so upset about it. I told him the double coupons were one reason I save so much on my grocery bill and why I get free products. He said the store had the right to change their policies. That's true, but here is what I think: Giant Eagle waited to implement this change when they had acquired most of Tops customers. With Tops out of business, Giant Eagle has a monopoly in Cleveland. Sure, there is Marc's and Heinens, but they don't have very convenient locations like Giant Eagle. So, they are making record profits and decide to take more savings away from the customers!

I told my husband if Tops was still open, I'd only shop there and never go to Giant Eagle again! But unfortunately Tops is gone and I prefer Giant Eagle. Too bad Meijer is too far away, or I'd be switching to them!

If you want to call and complain to Giant Eagle, here is their number, 1-800-634-1267. Maybe they'll reconsider and bring back the double coupons! **Update: Giant Eagle is continuing double coupons through the end of Sept, so get out those coupons and use them now!**
