Paying to Save Money @ the book store?

I've noticed there are a few rewards programs @ book stores, that charge a membership fee.

For example, Borders has a new Plus membership. For $20 a year, you get 40% off hardcover books, 20% off select hardcover books and 10% off everything else. And free shipping on borders.com orders.

Those perks sound nice but I don't think $20 to "save" money is worth it. I guess it depends on how often you'd use it.

Barnes and Noble has a similar program, for $25 a year, get free express shipping, 40% off hardcover books, bonus coupons, and a few other perks.

Sorry B&N and Borders, I'd rather shop at Amazon for books, their prices are almost always cheaper!

If you use a bookstore rewards program and think it really does save you money, please post a comment!
